Michael B. Jordan recently addressed reporters at the SAG awards as pressure surmounts for him to return for a follow-up to 2018’s Black Panther 2.
“Sequels, I think, are one of the hardest films to make, and I feel like to create a world and build upon it that’s so beautifully and delicately woven into the world of the Marvel Universe — but throughout cinema in general, you take Marvel out of it, I think it’s a movie that stands against all film across the board. So yeah, I think if there was an opportunity, I think everybody would be pretty excited to come back around.”
While Jordan’s Black Panther character died at the end of the film, Angela Bassett’s husband may have confirmed that Michael B. Jordan will indeed return as Erik Killmonger for the second installment.
When asked if all of the original Black Panther cast would return for the sequel, he was quoted as saying:
“Yes, just go ahead and say it, yes! Everyone will be there, including Michael B.”
Marvel is reportedly currently developing Black Panther 2 with Ryan Coogler set to again write and direct. Coogler was recently Executive Producer on Creed 2.
