Late 2012 iMacs Will Be Added to Apple’s Vintage and Obsolete Products Program the End of January

It’s been reported that an internal memo, distributed to Apple Authorized Service Providers, states that Apple will be adding Late 2012 model 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMacs to their vintage and obsolete products list on January 30th.

The pilot program began in January 2018 and lists vintage products that have not been manufactured for more than five years. Vintage and obsolete products are generally not eligible for repairs or replacement parts from Apple or Authorized Service Providers.

However the memo, obtained by MacRumors, states that Late 2012 model iMacs will be eligible for worldwide extended service (subject to parts availability) until January 30, 2021 under Apple’s pilot program.
